The new owners of the Château de Villeméjane, a 14th century building in the Gard region of France, have transformed the place into a new reception venue. The famous Madame de Sevigne would have stayed in this historic building at the time. The venue has been sublimated into an extraordinary indoor garden with opulent floral arrangements and an organic scenography to welcome a couple wishing to celebrate their wedding in a bucolic-chic and intimate setting. The event was organized by wedding planner Rachel Sword WP and photographed by Vincent Kem.
The editorial team tells the story of Kendall and Romain, who fell in love with the Château de Villeméjane, composed of a bastide, a keep, a chapel and an orangery. They decided to buy the property to create a new place to live and to welcome people. Madame de Sevigne would have stayed in the “Marquise’s room”, which has remained almost intact and adds to the romantic charm of the place. The renovation work was not an obstacle, and their family and professional adventure is followed by the show “Le château de mes rêves” on M6. For the editorial, a “Jardin Extraordinaire” decor and atmosphere were created inside the castle. The table was decorated with gold-rimmed dishes and fine stationery. The furniture in toile de Jouy gives a noble touch to the castle. The newlyweds were united in the chapel of the castle, under the benevolent gaze of the portrait of the marquise, with a sky of fleur-de-lis. The bride’s veil bears a quote from Madame de Sevigne: “memory is in the heart”.
